Sherry Scott and Liese Sherwood-Fabre

After a delicious lunch at the Benbrook Antique Mall Tea Room, some of the ladies from Trinity Writers' Workshop stopped by Benbrook Library for an author event. Liese Sherwood-Fabre and Sherry Scott shared with us their experiences from manuscript to print.

Each of these ladies has very different publishing experiences. The contrast provoked lots of questions by the audience.

Ms. Sherwood-Fabre's Saving Hope is a thriller with a Russian backdrop. She has first hand experience of life in Russia as she lived there for several years. You can read her bio here. And to add to the Russian experience, she handed out Russian chocolate for us to try.


Sherry Scott, in The Year my Mother Died shares with us her journey after the death of her mother. Despite her experiences as a physician trained in palliative/hospice care, the grief process was not what she had expected and her memoir, which covers the year after her mother's death, portrays her journey. She is hoping this book will help others to go through the process knowing they are not alone in their thoughts and emotions. But don't let the subject matter fool you, Sherry writes with humor and nostalgia.
